Erskine Stewart's Melville | June - September 1998 |
WEBSITE DESIGNER
I designed websites for The Mary Erskine School; Stewart?s Melville College and their joint Junior School. I identified and gathered relevant information by consulting key administrative staff from each school, and designed a structure that arranged this material logically. Although most of the content was copied from printed matter, I wrote original material for several pages using information collected by interviewing people. I developed greater awarenes about creating visual identities, as the three sites had to be distinctive yet clearly related. I learned how to create and manipulate images using digital cameras and various image editors. I generated sound and video clips. After giving group presentations to staff and individual presentations to senior figures, I responded to the resulting feedback. |

I learned how to make photographs suitable for the web, and how to put sound clips taken from tape on to the Internet using Real Audio. I also wrote subheadlines for all areas of the on-line paper. Computer Buyer Magazine awarded the site four stars in April 1998. |
